New Mexico Clean & Beautiful’s mission is engaging individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments. As a statewide program and state affiliate with Keep America Beautiful, Inc., New Mexico Clean & Beautiful is a program of the New Mexico Department of Tourism, and is the state’s leader in litter control and beautification.  The program’s main objective is to invest in local governments by annually awarding grants to local programs that undertake litter control through elimination, education and eradication, beautification; recycling; graffiti and weed eradication. Keep New Mexico Beautiful is a recipient of New Mexico Clean and Beautiful litter control funds which provides the basis for KNMB’s Grants program.

PNM Resources Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities served by the subsidiaries of PNM Resources. The Foundation seeks opportunities for engaged philanthropy through a focus on education, environmental awareness and education, economic vitality and employee engagement. In 2008, a PNM Partnership Grant supported Dusty Roadrunner and KNMB’s Environmental Education Specialist to travel to 20 schools in seven counties to carry out waste audits and develop class reduce-reuse-recycle action plans. Thirty-seven 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes for a total of 740 students and 41 teachers participated in this program!
